About James-Bobby

Music Genre:  Instrumental
Biography:  "I don't actually consider myself a musician, but rather a creative producer. Over the course of my life I have exercised a gift of Music, as well as a gift of Art. My gift in Art was always a lot more noticeable than my gift in Music, mainly because I never learned how to play any instruments. My talent with Music lies more in composition and mixing. Over the years I've used a number of different music composing programs, but the one that I've stuck with the most is FLStudio. My eldest brother was the one who introduced me to the program. Ever since then, I've been hooked on to it, regardless of the recommendations to use programs like Reason and Logic. To me, FLStudio is like home in the world of music. Since my talent only lies in digital implementations of music, I don't see myself as a performer. I haven't considered doing any singing yet, but I may seek to do so in the future. The purpose I want for my music to serve is to spark a thought or reflection in the mind of those who listen to them. I would like my music to be used as a door to higher creativity in whatever task that requires it. I also want my music to move its listeners to reflect on the things they've faced in their daily lives, so that they may gain something from evaluating those situations. I also think it would be cool to make music for a video game, cartoon, or some other form of media. Most people consider my style of composing to be good for those type of things."

Past Projects

Passionate Records Pt 1
"I see this album as 'the beginning.' It all started when I was sitting in my dorm room with nothing to do, so I decided to edit a picture of my second older brother and little sister. After editing it and randomly thinking of the name 'Passionate Records,' I thought 'Hmm...why not find a way to make this an official album cover?' Afterwards, I search around the internet for a couple of days, until I came across a site called SongCast. I signed up, and made the album official. The songs of this album weren't selected for any particular purpose. I just took several of my best composed songs at the time, along with a couple of songs that were so-so. This album consist of 10 tracks."

Passionate Records Pt 2
"This album started off as another random pick of songs, but circumstances led me to taking things a step further. When I first started this album, the album cover was another edited picture. This time it was of myself and two other friends. I had already selected songs for the album and had asked my friends if it was ok if I use a picture of them. Both my friends were fine with it at first, so I went ahead and placed the album in SongCast so that the wait for it to be distributed in online stores would begin. After a day or two, I talked to one of my friends who was in the picture, and it turned out that she didn't really understand what my plans were for the album cover. She didn't want me to use the picture, so I had to contact SongCast and hope that they would allow me to change the cover art before they distributed it. SongCast replied, and put my album on hold so that I would be able to make the necessary changes. At this point in time I was kind of frustrated because I didn't know what to do for an album cover. The marketing advisor of the company was also urging me to give the album a theme instead of placing random songs together. And so I thought long and hard, but couldn't think of anything until my church's youth pastor began a series of messages talking about purpose and having a vision for your life. I decided to use this as the theme for my album. I didn't find it hard to correlate some of the concepts he talked about with some songs that I already had composed. After renaming 9 of my songs and placing them in the album, I remixed one of my older songs for the very last track on the album. After coming up with 10 tracks, I was able to create the album cover and the name of the sub-name for the album (The Life of a Vision). I also wrote a brief description of the album...

'A Vision has a life of its own. During this life, the vision goes through three stages: Birth, Death, and Resurrection. It takes strength and endurance for a person to go through this process and keep their vision in the end. Some don't even make it past the 'Circuits of Animosity,' where people see problems but don't act to change them, therefore causing them to be stuck with those issues.'

Overall, I believe this album was the next step in becoming better at making meaningful music. Who knows? I might start singing in my albums soon."
